History of Georgia Medical Institute campuses:
GMI first opened its doors in 1977 as the Georgia Medical Employment Preparatory Center. In 1986 it changed it’s name to the Georgia Medical Institute and began expanding its campuses. In 2000, Corinthian Colleges purchased the three campuses, located in Marietta, Jonesboro, and Norcross, Georgia. Corinthian Colleges later acquired a fourth location, the Atlanta-DeKalb campus that later relocated to Decatur, Ga.
They continued to operate under the GMI brand until April 2007 when they became known as Everest Institute.
